As you all know by now, I love travel nursing to New York. One of the main questions I get asked is how I find short-term furnished housing in the Big Apple. Here is my best kept housing secret:
I most recently used New York Habitat to find my dream apartment. Since this was my second time to New York I wanted to optimize for neighborhood. For me, it was really important to live in a nice apartment near Central Park. Given this criteria, I was blown away by all of the options New York Habitat had to offer. Within seconds of inquiring about a property, I was reached out to by an agent and the place was mine in less than a week.
Since I travel nursed to New York alone this contract, I was really nervous about safety as a woman. From the beginning, I felt so taken care of by New York Habitat. Moving across the country I felt safe and secure in my decision to find housing with New York Habitat. More so, New York Habitat has always been there for those they serve. In 2020, they helped provide housing for nurses fighting on the frontlines in the COVID pandemic. Read more about their incredible work here. New York Habitat really cares about the people they house, especially nurses.
So if you are looking for short-term housing for your next travel nursing contract in New York City, definitely use New York Habitat and tell them I sent you!
